This epic festival is heading West to our Atlantic shores for the first time. I thought I would highlight a few of AE’s favourite elements from the stellar line up. Get you ticket folks, its going to be a salty, spectacular weekend all round.
1. Liquid Therapy, 4pm Saturday
At AE over the last year, we have had a very intense experience of the variety, importance and progress therapy can bring to a person. Therapy comes in many shapes and sizes, and it is our opinion that the most special, most real and most important piece of the Shore Shots schedule will be at 4pm on Saturday afternoon. Tom is a gentleman, and the path he has carved with the Liquid Therapy team is the definition of inspirational.
2. Barry and Peter, 6.30pm Saturday
Something unique, special and exciting will go down at this talk. Be there guys. Attend with the knowledge you will leave with an unbridled wanderlust. These two men are humble and extraordinary. Both are the real deal adventurers and reveal to many the beauty in the untamed. This won’t be average.
3. Faroes, 1pm Sunday
If you look at the names list for the team involved in Faroes, you would book your ticket on that alone. A guaranteed big screen spectacle of the harsh, stunning alternative to the Hollywood version of surfing. Yes, you could watch it on your laptop, but it is for this kind of footage God (or whoever) made the big screen.
4. Edits Comp, 9pm Saturday
Where all of the fruits of a Winters toil are on show. Some of the best people I know have spent the best of their days chasing waves throughout the past season. They then forge them all together into stellar clips for your viewing pleasure. No doubt the most fun part of the Shore Shots schedule, and the most visceral evidence of the phenomenal talent that will be in the room watching with you.
5. Everything Else
With so many surfers in one place, Allan, Aiden & Shane have organised the un-organisable. Come on down guys, you’ll hear wisdom from Ferg, tales from Easkey, lense learning from George Karbus and artistic talk from Gary Reddin. You will see great art and photography on the walls, and incredible surf stories told through film. These are just our pick of the bunch, each element of the line up offers so much.
